The Password Manager That Lets You Forget Your Passwords
By batzmaru
How many passwords do you have?
I personally have more than 20 online accounts which means I have to remember more than 20 unique passwords. The sites that I visit daily are easy to remember (e-mail, facebook, twitter etc..) but the ones that I log in rarely can sometimes be a problem. Most of the times I will forget my passwords or maybe just have them mixed up with other sites and it is rather frustrating to have to go through the password recovery steps every time.
After a while I have had enough of that and I started to search for password managers that would help me with remembering my passwords. I have used a few of them from the built in password managers that they have with the browsers, to paid password managers that costs a lot. Finally I stumbled upon Lastpass and I've never looked back ever since.
The Last Passsword I Have To Remember
Lastpass is a free password manager that not only stores your password for you, it also can help you create strong password, fills forms, bookmark pages and lets you remember only one password for your entire life. Literally.
With lastpass, you only have to remember one master password and thats it. With that master password, you will have access to all your other passwords and login info. With a click of a mouse It will not only take you to the desired login page, but also will automatically log you in.
To use lastpass you just have to sign up for the service and install an extension for the browser of your choice. The extension is really optional but it will make things a lot easier for you if you have it. If you are using an existing password manager be it the built in password manager in your browser or a third party software, It will import all your passwords from the existing password manager to lastpass. So instead of having multiple password managers, you only have one.
Benefits of Lastpass
Lastpass offers you the option of remembering only one master password for your online accounts and you never have to worry about forgetting your passwords ever again.
Your passwords are stored in your pc and also on the lastpass servers. So whenever your computer crashes and you have to use a different computer or you just got a new computer, all you have to do is just install the plugin (you also could log in from their website) log in with your master password and you will have all your saved login info right in front of you.
Lastpass has a free version and also a paid version. The difference between the free version and the paid version is that the paid version lets you use lastpass on your mobile phones. This is convenient for those owning a smartphone and use it regularly. The best part is that it only costs $1 monthly (My daily coffee costs more). The paid version also has some extra security functions like multifactor authentication via USB thumb drives and the ability to use lastpass without installing the plugin to the computer. Convenient for those using public computers in a cyber cafe where you can't freely install stuff.
Lastpass Basic Introduction
Whats better than free
In conclusion, lastpass is a tool that helps with the troubles of remembering multiple passwords and best of all you can actually forget your password and not worry about it for once. Keep in mind that with all data storage, it is recommended that you backup your login informations regularly. Lastpass has the function to backup you passwords to your USB thumb drive automatically. I've use lastpass for months now and honestly, I don't know how I can live without it. Give it a try and tell me what you think :)
